“YOU’RE HIRED” ESSENTIAL JOB SKILLS CLASS AT HCCnTuesdays & Thursdays 4:00–5:30p.m Starting September 3, 2019nStudents with disabilities can build soft skills through interactive sessions with real-world scenarios. This new course uses hands-on activities and real-world applications to teach students the essential soft skills to pave the way to success and improve their chances to get and keep a job. The following topics will be covered: n• Effective Communication n• Interviewing n• Time Management n• Job Seeking Strategies n• Problem Solving n• Working Under Pressure n• Organization n• Teamwork n• Goal Setting n• Professional Work Ethics nThis is the first class in a series that can lead to an office skills certificate from Howard Community College’s Division of Continuing Education & Workforce Development. The course will meet for 10 weeks and costs $475. Eligibility Requirements: Students must be at least 17 years old, have a third grade reading level or above, and commit to following the HCC Code of Conduct.
