This information session will help parents and students usethe transition IEP process to prepare for life after high school for studentswith a disability, whether that is employment, further education, orindependent living. Participants will review tools from ‘Charting the LifeCourse’ and talk about how to use these tools when discussing the transitionsection of a student’s IEP. They will also discuss self-advocacy tips for bothstudents and parents to use in the IEP setting. In particular, the session isgeared towards transition-age youth (age 14-21) and their parents, but it willbe an open discussion of the IEP more generally at points and families withstudents of all ages may find it useful and informative.
