SCOUTING FOR INDIVIDUALS WITH AUTISM AND OTHER DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES nTuesday, June 25, 2019 7:00-8:00pm nNonProfit Collaborative of Howard County n9770 Patuxent Woods Drive nColumbia, MDnScott Larson, an Assistant Scoutmaster with Boy Scout Troop 874, will conduct a presentation about opportunities and resources in Howard County for boys and girls who are on the autism spectrum or have other developmental disabilities and are interested in scouting. A scout from the troop who is on the autism spectrum will also participate in the presentation and he will discuss his own experience as a Cub Scout and Boy Scout. Scouting programs provide a structured learning environment where youth can enjoy the outdoors; learn independence; and develop lifelong personal management, leadership, and preparedness skills. This presentation is sponsored by the Howard County Autism Society, but is appropriate for families of students with other developmental disabilities. http://www.howard-autism.org/
