The SSDI and SSI income benefitprograms administered by the Social Security Administration provide a lifelineto millions of Americans who have disabilities. Individuals receiving thesebenefits are often unaware of employment supports or “work incentives”available to protect eligibility for benefits while working and, as a result,either don’t seek employment, or limit their earnings for fear of losing theirbenefits. The Maryland Work Incentives Network (MD-WIN) is a freestatewide program helping people who receive disability benefits to understandand use the work incentives available under SSDI and SSI. Understandingthe options and possibilities can help you make informed choices about going towork or increasing work earnings.
