Throughout the course, instructors will emphasize the importance of presuming competence, and participants will gain confidence in their own abilities to make a positive difference to a person with autism. Topics include:nAutism, Social Interactive Engagement and Presuming CompetencenFollowing the Lead: Creating Naturalistic Circles of Intentional EngagementnSupporting CommunicationnCreating Adaptive Materials and Accommodating Sensory DifferencesnPositive Behavior Supports, Transitions and Addressing CrisesnBuilding Relationships and Supporting AutonomynThere is a small fee of $40 to cover materials.
