In this talk, Aaron Dallman,PhD, OTR/L, Towson University, will review the importance of mental health inchildren and adolescents with autism spectrum disorder. He will discuss earlyrisk factors in the identification of mental health challenges (like depressionand anxiety) in children with autism. Attendees will leave the presentation withpractical tools that optimize mental health for all children. The talk willalso discuss the diverse roles of occupational therapists in supporting themental health of adolescents on the autism spectrum. Participants will learnhow occupational therapists and families can collaborate to ensure children onthe autism spectrum thrive.
