Presented by Suzanne Mouton-Odum, Ph.D. Trichotillomania (i.e., hairpulling) and dermatillomania (i.e., skin picking) disorders – also known asbody-focused repetitive behaviors, or BFRBs – are seldom discussed openly.Though BFRBs are relatively common, and behavioral treatment is available andeffective, people struggling with them often feel ashamed and misunderstood. Inthis webinar, caregivers will learn:
•What defines a BFRB: How they are diagnosed and what to know about thesemisunderstood childhood disorders
•About the current functional model for understanding why people pull theirhair and/or pick their skin
•The current best practice treatment approaches for BFRBs
